Set up first interview!
Updated: Jan 13
I've set up my first real interview. The only way to get this thing going is to give myself a deadline. I scheduled the interview for November 16 so that it will kick my butt into gear to figure out the technical issues. I'm planning to have three episodes done before launching the podcast. The first episode will be just an introduction of who I am, why I'm doing the podcast and what I want to explore during the process. The second and third podcasts will be interviews with people about a specific topic related to the second half of life. The interview I've set up for November 16 is with a lovely woman that I've known for about 19 years but don't see very often. Her kids have recently both gone off to college so I thought it would be interesting to talk to her about the issues that have arisen for her being an empty nester (is that a term? Empty nester? Hope so!). It fits in really well with my exploration of the second half of life since many of us are either in that position or will be sometime in the near future. I'm super excited about it! Definitely nervous but excited. I'm just counting on being really bad at this for the first couple of months (or longer) and slowly learning from my mistakes and getting better over time. Now I have to get off my butt and figure out how to edit, add music (the plan is for my husband to play some classical music for the intro and outro!), and download the episode off of Garageband onto something that can be accessed by everyone. If you're still reading this, you're a super star in my book and I really appreciate that you're coming on this journey with me!
